Countering juvenile delinquency: Innovation in prevention and social inclusion

Overall objective of the project was to contribute towards countering juvenile delinquency by innovation in prevention and social inclusion of youth at risk. The target group of the project included (1) juvenile delinquents at age of 14-18, juveniles at risk and their parents; (2) penitentiary institutions in charge of juvenile delinquency; (3) Institutions and organizations working on prevention of juvenile delinquency and (4) Institutions in charge of policies for employment.
Through the project, ISIE team in cooperation with the Association for Development Initiatives “Zenith” has: (1) analysed individual juvenile offenders files at educational-correctional facilities/youth prison; (2) conducted a survey on citizen and businessmen perceptions and attitudes towards youth at risk and juvenile offenders; (3) organized a roundtable on new approaches in countering juvenile delinquency; (4) developed Guidelines for addressing risk of delinquency among students; (5) organized a media campaign; (6) established a methodology and support network for personal development, and advancing of pro-social and coping skills among youth at risk and (7) engaged employers to provide internships and professional advice to youth at risk.
