Within our “Boosting corruption reporting enabling environment in the state-owned enterprises” Project, funded by the US embassy Skopje, a series of four training events has been organized in Bitola, Skopje, Shtip and Tetovo in May 2023. All the trainings have been organized at American corners in the selected cities.
The main purpose of the trainings was twofold: to familiarize the targeted groups with the key findings and recommendations of the monitoring of the transparency of state-owned enterprises on national and local level and to strengthen the capacities of the enterprises and local council to prevent and report corruption. The trainers included experienced law professors (prof. dr. Darko Spasevski and prof. dr. Ivana Shumanovska Spasovska) and the Secretary General of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (Irena Popovska).
Over 60 participants including state-owned enterprises representatives, local council members and activists have attended the meetings.
The events were widely covered by local and regional TV stations and radios including TV Tera Bitola, TV Kiss Menada Tetovo, Radio Kanal 77.
