PUBLIC CALL FOR STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SPRING SCHOOL FOR PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION IN HIGHER EDUCATION IN OHRID, MAY 15-18, 2024.
The Institute for Strategic Research and Education (ISIE), together with the Center for Free Elections and Democracy (CeSID) and the Institute for Development, Research and Alternatives (IDRA) have been implementing the project “Corruption Free Universities in Albania, North Macedonia and Serbia”. After conducting research with students at public universities in Albania, North Macedonia and Serbia, successful organization of workshops for building the capacity of faculty teaching staff across the region as well as meetings with members of national Parliaments who showed great interest in the topic of corruption prevention in higher education, a Spring School on the prevention of corruption in higher education will be organized in Ohrid, N. Macedonia from 15-18 May 2024.
A total of 30 students (10 from each country) will be selected to attend the Spring School. Lectures in Ohrid will be held by national and international experts from all three countries in English language. Students are expected to participate as agents of change and to implement follow-up activities with the aim of preventing corruption in their environment. Follow-up activity refers to any activity that aims to raise awareness of the importance of corruption prevention in the immediate environment of students. Each student will sign a service contract with the Consortium, which will provide him/her with support for the implementation of follow-up activities (month of June) after the Spring School (up to 100 euros gross amount).
Accommodation costs (3 nights, full board) as well as international transportation costs (bus ticket) will be covered for the participants of the Spring School.
Who can apply?
- Students of undergraduate and master studies of public universities in the targeted countries.
- Students that express interest in this topic and are willing to take an active part in the lectures.
- Students who are responsible and ready to implement follow-up activities in their environment after the Spring School.

What are the criteria for the selection of Spring School participants?
- The applicant is a student at one of the public universities in the three countries and has an active knowledge of English language;
- The applicant has successfully filled out the application form including personal data, a motivational letter of up to 200 words and presented an idea for a follow-up activity;
- The applicant actively participates in various student activities;
- The best ideas presented in the application, along with the remaining successfully submitted information, will be the key and only criteria for selecting participants of the Spring School in Ohrid.
